Marine turtle volunteering at Bubbles, Perhentian, Malaysia

Come and experience the threats to marine denizens first hand and help us on the front line of marine and turtle conservation in the Perhentian Islands Malaysia. As a marine turtle volunteer at Bubbles you will not only get involved in marine turtle conservation via physical protection but also by educating guests and spreading marine turtle conservation awareness amongst the Malaysian population.

As a marine turtle volunteer you will also help with collecting scientific data through daily beach cleans, fortnightly snorkel coral reef surveys and various other data which will be given and presented to the Malaysian government and local universities to help direct future conservation in the Perhentian Islands.  Marine turtle volunteers also get hands on with the tourists at the Bubbles dive resort by teaching them how to snorkel environmentally friendly, help them to watch our nesting female green turtles at night and lead educational walks in the tropical rainforests surrounding the Bubbles dive resort.  Additionally volunteers will help with weekly projects ranging from building this website to constructing a raised bed for our organic fruit and vegetable garden.

Volunteers also help on our school program at the primary school in the Perhentian Islands.  The volunteers conduct the fortnightly Turtles need Trees Club where you get the chance to teach the kids about the importance of the terrestrial environment to the sea and how their actions on the land affect the seas.  After the club stay overnight in the village and experience how the villagers live increasing cultural immersion.
